This existing carriage house was transformed from a run down garage into a fully realized accessory dwelling unit designed to expand how the clients live on their property. The goal was to create a flexible space that could support a live-in nanny or provide a comfortable place for visiting family. The design focused on making the most of a compact footprint, incorporating elements that allow the space to shift and adapt to different needs. A highly efficient layout supports day to day living while still feeling open and inviting. On the exterior, updates focused on creating a stronger connection to the main home. New elements were introduced to bring cohesion between the structures and make the carriage house feel like an intentional extension of the property. The result is a thoughtful addition that not only complements the primary residence but fills a gap in how the property functions, offering flexibility without compromise.
